Krishi Vigyan Kendra Manpur, Gaya has been established in Mach, 2006 vide ICAR, File No. 18-03/94-AE-1 dt. 24.03.2006 which host institution is Rajendra Agricultural University, Bihar, Pusa, Samastipur. This new Kendra lies between 840 17’35” and 85023’ 30” E longitude and 24016’30” and 25’3’30” N latitude at an altitude of 1111meter above MSL at NH-82, Gaya-Nawada Road. The nearest Railway Station and Private Bus stand are Manpur, about 2 km north-east and west, respectively and Gaya Jn. is about 6 km west from this centre. The International Airport is situated about 12 km south-west and the world famous temple of Lord Vishnu at Vishnupad & Lord Buddha at Bodh-Gaya are at the distance of 5 km and 15 km south and west respectively, from this Kendra.
The climate of this district is Sub-tropical, where the hottest month is June and December is the coldest month. Average annual rainfall is 944 mm and the maximum and minimum temperature range from 44-450c and 02-040c respectively.
The soil of this district is generally heavy to medium textured, deficient in organic matter, macro-nutrients and micronutrients; like zinc and Boron. The cultivable land of this district is 235.82 ha out of which paddy is grown in 177472 ha followed by wheat in 81430 ha, vegetable in 8350 ha. Among oil seeds 21073 ha, and pulses lentil, gram and redgram 70701ha cauliflower, potato and brinjal are important vegetables grown in this locality. This district has large consumption of sesamum in Tilkut preparation, therefore high yielding variety is needed to meet the demand. Since the area is dry there is ample scope for Poultry, Goatry and Dairy. Recently farmers of this district showed their interest in the cultivation of flowers and medicinal plants.

This Kendra lies between 840 17’ 35” and 850 23’ 30” E longitude and 24016’30” and 2503’30” N latitude at an altitude of 1111 meter above MSL at NH-82, Gaya-Nawada Road. This center is abour 240km from BAU, Sabour, Bhagalpur and 110 km from Patna. This district is surrounded by Jehanabad, Aurangabad, Nalanda, Nawada with Jharkhand state in south direction. The nearest Railway station and private bus stand at Manpur is about 2km North-east and west respectively and Gaya railway station is about 6km west from this centre. The International Airport is situated about 12 km south- west and Vishnu pad & lord Buddha at Bodh Gaya are at the distance of 5 km and 15km South and West respectively from Kendra.
